Hypnotherapy

The term hypnosis was derived from the Greek word meaning “sleep” thus named so after the Ancient Greek God of Sleep and Ruler of Dreams “Hypnos”. The art of hypnotherapy dates back as far as recorded history across all areas of the globe. Originally thought of as a mystic art, it was later recognised in the late 1800’s and termed hypnosis by a neurosurgeon named Dr. James Braid.

The hypnotic state is not an unconscious sleep state, but an altered state of consciousness. In actual fact, it is a natural phenomenon, which we drift into and out of several times every day. Someone who chooses to be hypnotised is actually being guided in their own self-hypnosis. Any suggestions made during a self-hypnotic state will only have an effect if the subject chooses so.

Hypnotherapy is used to treat any behaviour or issue that is no longer wanted in your life or perhaps a behaviour you wish to adopt.  This could be related to a past trauma, phobias, stress, behavioural issues, anxiety/depression, weight control, quit smoking or even achieving your goals. Hypnotherapy is a safe treatment to assist you in reprogramming your thoughts and behaviours whilst you are in a waking state of awareness.

Session Details:

The first session is to discuss your issues or problems and begin your treatment program. This is a really important first step that sets the groundwork for what you would like to achieve. During this time you can decide whether hypnotherapy is right for you and whether Sam is the right practitioner for your needs.

1st Session 90 mins – $200

Like any healing therapy of mind and body, hypnotherapy takes time. Occasionally someone may feel relief and results after one session, others may be harder to hypnotise or their issues may take a few sessions.  At the end of the day, like any healing, it is up to you to listen to the advice given and do your part in assisting in your recovery.

Additional session 60 mins – $150
